Discover exciting new talent alongside established stars of the online music reporting world at the annual Style of Sound Autumn Exhibition. Showcasing 100 music sites who cover everything from indie rock, to electronica, to metal, hip hop, & more, there is something for everyone.
Famous as the world’s most comprehensive music publications exhibition, there are certain things the Style of Sound Autumn Exhibition delivers every single year: a panorama of music sites covering all genres, a remarkable mixture of emerging sites and household names, and more to see and explore than any other exhibition you’re likely to visit this year.
As in previous years, the catalogue of the Top 100 influential music sites is for sale, giving you the opportunity to own your very own list filled with the world’s leading music sites of today and tomorrow. Crucially, proceeds allow us to undertake this vast project in the future and helps maintain the Style of Sound website.
How Was this Exhibition Put Together?
We’ve found social engagement to be a good indicator of online influence as it is in essence a digital word-of-mouth recommendation. When music fans regularly share a site’s content over time in great numbers, the more influential it becomes, helping the site become ubiquitous – and trusted.
Our exhibition is based on the total number of social engagements a website’s articles received over the last 12 months (Early October 2015 – 2016). We counted social shares across Facebook (including likes and comments), Twitter, Pinterest, Google+ and Linkedin.
Whilst this method is not 100% fool proof it provides the best measure of global music influence to date.
With 100 publications in the Fall 2016 Exhibition, there’s a lot to see. Browse all the sites featured in the show online by following the link below.
Do you think we’ve missed your site from the exhibition? Contact us with the name of your site and URL and we will get in touch for the next show. Note: Sites typically need a minimum of 300K+ annual social shares to be considered for the Top 100.
