Style of Sound Premiere | Disco Doubles: For One Night Only
One of the best autumn releases coming out this month is Disco Double’s For One Night Only out on German Boutique label Emerald & Doreen.
Nearly everything Emerald & Doreen is worth collecting, and this release will appeal especially to fans of italo disco, space disco, and just plain ol’ disco.
Whilst the album harks back to a time, a time when disco was emerging as an original art form, Gilberto Caleffi and Erio Simonise, the duo behind Disco Doubles, manage to add a modern touch to each of the nine songs they’ve created.
My favourite track from the album is ‘Reach for the Stars,’ the kind of track you would have expected from Giorgio Moroder – if he were an underground producer, rooted deep down in late 1970s space disco x early 1980s new romantic wave x italo disco, adding a tiny touch of mnstrm electro house, just because it’s 2015.
This album pairs perfectly with anything coming out on London’s Nude Disco.
‘For One Night Only’ is out on the 23rd October.
