Today we’re pleased to premiere this set of Dub Piano Remixes, based on a track originally created by Tokyo-based artist, music producer & DJ Shotaro Hirata.
Established in the vibrant Japanese music scene, his repertoire includes techno, tech-house, minimal, chillout, electronica and some good old-skool dub rhythms.
Emerald and Doreen are releasing this set of remixes, remixes which dive into an eclectic fusion of Dub inspired, Acid, House & Electronica, areas which Emerald and Doreen know very well, as shown in their diverse back catalogue of music which pushes boundaries.
Out of the seven remixes on offer, my favourite is the Go Satta Restored Roots Version, a remix which is reminiscent of earlier pioneers of dub fusion such as Dreadzone or Thievery Corporation.
Shotaro Hirata’s ‘Dubbing Piano Remixes’ is out this Friday.
